About the event

Join us for a one-of-a-kind pottery adventure that intertwines archaeological discoveries with the ancient art of crafting clay! Our class offers a creative exploration through art and history.

During this class, we will get inspired by perfume vessels. These vessels provide a glimpse into the idea of beauty and aesthetics of ancient times. Using clay and hand-building techniques, we will try to create unique pieces.

What to expect:

• You will feel confident and relaxed in a creative and friendly environment.

• You’ll have the opportunity to create your own pottery pieces using various techniques, allowing you to express your creativity and connect with the past.

• Some pieces can be coloured on the same day using underglazes, providing instant gratification and enhancing your pottery-making experience.

• The price of the class includes all materials, including clay, tools, and glazes, as well as firing services.

• Your pieces will be fired within 2 weeks, depending on how busy the studio is.

• We keep the pieces at the studio for max 3 months.

Course schedule:

‣ 19:00-19:20 Archaeological approach: Alexandra presents the ancient topic with its archaeological and historical contexts.

‣ 19:20-19:45 Ceramic technique demo: Özlem makes a demo about the hand-building techniques of the day.
